How Scheduling & Collection Works
Retrievr offers an easy collection of the valuable but unused items that tend to sit idle in customers’ closets, drawers, and storage spaces. Today, Retrievr focuses on clothing, accessories, and electronics, and will collect these items from the customer’s doorstep. Customers may request a collection by sending a text message or visiting Retrievr.com.
Please read the Privacy Statement carefully to understand how Retrievr collects, uses, and discloses information about customers and how to update or change your personal information and how we communicate with you.
How Retrievr Rewards Works
As part of our efforts to encourage recycling, Retrievr looks for ways for customers to share in the value of what they are recycling, and we from time to time offer various promotions in the form of rewards that customers can earn for taking environmentally friendly actions.
Prior rewards included the offer of a gift card or donation (made in the customer’s name) for taking pictures of the items being recycled.
The current Retrievr Rewards program takes the form of a BuyBack program. For a limited time, Retrievr will publish a price list for certain brands of smartphones, jeans, jackets / outerwear, sweaters, and selected other apparel categories. Retrievr will continue to collect any and all items on our accepted items list; we will only offer to buyback value for the designated brands and product categories on our target list.
Customers will identify their Buyback items as they schedule their collection. After Retrievr collects your items, Retrievr will review all items designated by you for Buyback and inform you:
- Which items, if any, were rejected, along with a reason
- Which items, if any, were accepted, along with the final buyback value earned
- Instructions for how to redeem your reward
Retrievr reserves the right to change the list of acceptable brands, product categories, and the buyback values at any time.
You can enroll in Retrievr by visiting Retrievr.com or texting the word “pickup” via SMS text message to a designated Retrievr phone number. Follow the prompts to confirm your eligibility to participate in the program and establish your account.
Note that while you can enroll in and participate in Retrievr’s collection program via text message, you may only participate in the Retrievr Rewards buyback program by using our online scheduling tool.
The registration process may require that you provide the following information: name, mobile telephone number, physical address, and email. During the course of using the Retrievr services, you may also need to provide your credit card number and credit card security code. Note that Retrievr uses a third party payment processor to take credit card payments; Retrievr neither sees nor stores your credit card information.
If you change your physical address to one that is not located in an area served by Retrievr, then you will no longer be able to earn rewards. Your account will remain active, and you will retain the ability to redeem any rewards earned prior to moving outside of Retrievr’s area of service. Retrievr will retain your information for as long as we deem necessary. You may inform us of any changes or requests regarding your personal data, and in accordance with our obligations under local data protection law, we will use all reasonable means to update or delete your personal data accordingly. However, Retrievr will retain and use your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Retrievr reserves the right at all times to disclose any information as Retrievr deems necessary to satisfy any applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.
How Retrievr Rewards Works
To be eligible to earn a buyback reward, customers must:
- Use Retrievr’s online scheduling form
- For each item being sold, identify the product category (e.g., phone, jacket), brand, and for electronics the device model
- Certify that each item meets or exceeds our minimum acceptable condition (see below)
- Separate all buyback items into a separate bag or box clearly labeled “Buyback”
- Include on the label the customer’s name and mobile phone number
Retrievr will only offer rewards to customers who follow all of the steps above. Customers who fail to perform any of these steps forfeit their right to a reward or compensation.
Retrievr only offers buyback value for items that meet our strict acceptance standards. Each item will be evaluated to determine, in our sole discretion, whether the item meets the criteria below.
- Is in excellent, new, or like-new condition;
- Is free from stains, pilling, holes, odor, and any other signs of wear;
- Has been freshly laundered and completely dried;
- Is authentic (i.e., manufactured by the brand identified by the customer)
- Device powers on
- Screen is free from cracks
- Camera, microphone, and speakers are fully functional (as applicable)
- Frame and body are free of dents, scratches, and other visible flaws or damage
- Device is reset to factory settings, including removal of any PIN or password required to unlock the device
- FindMyiPhone (or equivalent for non-Apple devices) is deactivated and turned off
All items immediately and irrevocably become the property of Retrievr upon receipt and will not be returned. If your items do not meet our minimum acceptable standard, or if your Buyback items are not separated into a clearly labeled bag or box, then you forfeit your right to compensation. Retrievr reserves the right to sell unaccepted or unseparated items to third-parties (for example, textile or electronics recyclers) without any obligation to compensate you for such items.
Representations & Warranties
You hereby represent and warrant that you have good and marketable title to each item and have the right to sell the item; no items are subject to any liens or encumbrances; no items are counterfeit goods; no items infringe upon, misappropriate, or violate any trademark, copyright, or other intellectual property other other proprietary right of any third party, any state or federal law, or any administrative regulation.
Once your collection is processed – typically within 7-10 business days of receipt – Retrievr will notify you of the results of our evaluation including the total buyback value you earned. Shortly thereafter, Retrievr will send you a link to redeem a digital gift card in a denomination matching your final buyback total.
Form of Compensation
Retrievr reserves the right to determine the gift card provider, and will ensure the gift card is widely accepted (e.g., a national retailer, or a Visa or similar gift card). Retrievr reserves the right to change the gift card provider at any time, as well as the right to switch from a gift card to another form of payment, at our sole discretion.
There are no membership fees associated with Retrievr Rewards.
Your rewards and your account under Retrievr Rewards are personal to you and may not be sold, transferred or assigned to, or shared with, family, friends, or others, or used by you for any commercial purpose. You may have only one (1) Retrievr Rewards account that is personal to you.
Without notice to you, Retrievr also reserves the right to “unregister” and make ineligible for the Retrievr Rewards program any account that has been inactive for two (2) consecutive years. Inactive is defined as no pickups scheduled or collected. In the event that your account is unregistered or rendered inactive, then all accumulated rewards in your account are void.
Retrievr reserves the right to terminate, discontinue, or cancel the Retrievr Rewards program at any time and in its sole discretion without notice to you.
